we’re at it again. The Gathering is happening this Saturday, 27th April, from 8pm onwards in the Golden Ball. It will be a night for the words, songs and music of the people, by the people, for the people. Last time it was packed so get there early to ensure a seat.

If you are able to download and display this poster in your window, shops and work notice boards that would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see you on the night, either performing or soaking up the politically charged atmosphere.

Four fantastic acts for only £5! And a cheapish bar to boot.

York legend Rory Motion leads the way with up and coming singer songwriter Josiah Mortimer keeping pace. Martin Riley entertains with his oral shenanigans and we’ll finish off with our very own funky agit-swing dance your pants off Reason Breeds Monsters.

There’s a new social scene waiting to burst in York and this could be the start of it! See you there and tell your friends.

apologies for our absence. We’re like buses. Nothing for ages then two things at once.

Firstly we want to get York Social Ideas back on the road. The reason we have been in the garage so long is a shortage of drivers. Most of us have been too busy working other routes, and this is unlikely to change. So this is an appeal for you to come on board. OK enough of the bus puns.

The simplest way to get things going is with a series of ‘Pub Talks’. We are having a planning meeting 8pm Monday 18th February in the Golden Ball. Come along and help organise the spring season. Drinking and thinking. Great combination.

Secondly we are putting on a fabulous evenings entertainment for the finale of the Radical Statisticians Conference. The cabaret includes Rory Motion, Reason Breeds Monsters and Martin Riley. Come along from 8pm Saturday 23 Feb. Only a fiver to get in, a (relatively) cheap bar, top talent and anyone who’s anyone in radical York will be there. The thinking persons big night out. Hope to see you there.
